OPPO DV-983H 1080p Universal Up-Converting DVD Player with SACD and DVD-Audio Review

I need to buy (my 1) DVD player after buying my 1st TV Samsung LN46A750 46-Inch 1080p DLNA LCD HDTV with RED touch of color, 6 months ago. Because I had an excellent High Fidelity stereo analog and a wide selection of music which included SACD, I was interested in a player who was out of his excellent and very good resolution of 1080p capable of carrying both DVD and CD (my CD player Denon had just launched the bucket). I am also a bit 'of foreign films and prefer anamorphic presentation &so I can buy DVDs from other regions, where an American DVD is not available or of lower quality, so I also wanted a multi-region. While most DVD players were a little 'less than the 983H, all SACD players I've had my eye are much more expensive. After reading all the rave reviews, I concluded that it was the best solution and if I was not satisfied with the release, I could always get a SACD player or try another brand when I improve my collection of Blu-Ray . So,I drove to their offices (I live in the Bay area) and purchased directly (at the time this model was not even listed on Amazon).  Read more...
